How We Work on River Oaks Homes

We're a local electrical company that does the work and explains the parts behind it. Before anything goes into your home, we tell you what we plan to use, why it suits your wiring and what the other choices would mean for cost and lifespan.

Why We Talk About Materials First

Most electrical work looks the same once the cover plates go back on. The difference lives behind the wall: the gauge of the wire, the type of breaker, whether an outlet was backstabbed or wired around its screw terminals. Those choices decide how a circuit handles load years from now, so we explain them before we start.

A lot of houses in this area date from the middle of the last century, and many have been added onto since. On one visit we might find original cloth-sheathed cable, newer plastic-sheathed NM cable and a stretch of aluminum branch wiring from a later remodel. Each one behaves differently, and the right repair depends on which one we're looking at.

So we show you. If we open a box and find a scorched aluminum splice, you see it, and we walk through the fixes: connectors rated for aluminum-to-copper, pigtailing the device, or replacing the run. You hear the trade-offs in plain words and decide from there.

What a Visit With Us Looks Like

  • Options with honest trade-offs

When there's more than one sound way to do a job, we lay them out. An outdoor run might go in PVC conduit, which shrugs off moisture, or metal conduit, which holds up better where a mower or bike can hit it. We tell you which we'd pick and why.

  • Parts matched to your panel

Breakers from different brands can look alike and even snap in, but that doesn't make them safe together. We use breakers listed for your panel and tell you plainly when the panel itself is the bigger concern.

  • Ratings that fit the spot

Summer attics here get brutally hot, so heat ratings on cable, boxes and LED drivers matter. We choose parts rated for where they'll actually sit, so they don't fail early.

  • A tidy, explained finish

We cover floors where we walk and pick up before we leave. You get a short rundown of what we did and what we used.
